Starting at SALSA CLUB JAKARTA, NEIL Abaroea has been dancing Salsa since 2000 and teaching since 2001. With a simple and elegant style, you’ll see how simple dancing salsa is. Neil’s students are from all over Indonesia including Medan, Padang, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Bali and Surabaya. Salsa Clinic was founded in 2003 by Neil Abaroea to spread Salsa “fever”, provide information about salsa and to facilitate each individuals learning through simple exercises to analyze the problems found in the patterns commonly used. Neil fell in love with Argentine Tango after watching the movie Assasination Tango (2002) in which the Tango choreography was done by Pablo Veron one of Neil’s idols. Fascinated by Tango music and dance, Neil started learning in 2003 and continued in 2005 with Guillermo and Fernanda who were world champions in 1999 and again in 2007 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Neil then completed a course in the Leiden Tango Centro, Netherlands (2007) which was followed by teachers Carlos Gravito (the Tango golden age) and Pablo Veron (The god feet) and these were dancers who had a major influence inTango as we know it today.
